
STAGING ASSISTANT INTERN
PART-TIME; JUNE 1st THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST (DAYS TBD)
We are looking for a motivated part-time intern to assist experienced stagers in preparation and carry-out of home staging projects. You will assist in tasks that include, but are not limited to preparing for staging jobs and organizing warehouse after de-staging. You will work in close collaboration with owner and design director Melissa Morrissey. No experience is required; however, being a student in a design related field is a plus!

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Day-to-day tasks will include working in the Boston Modern warehouse carrying out organizational tasks

​Unpack accent bins and bedding bags in a timely manner

Rearrange small furniture items as needed

Keep bedding and accent rooms clean and tidy
-

Work directly with design director herself to learn and properly carry-out staging preparation tasks
-
​Help pre-plan design concepts and style for staging jobs

Select art, mirrors, and wall decor
-
Plan bed set ups and decorative pillows for specific themed jobs
-
Coordinate a cohesive design scheme through accents and small decor pieces

Pair lamp selections
-
Work collaboratively with lead stagers to choose furniture selections

Summer long projects

​Help Boston Modern design our new office! Complete creative freedom on this project overseen by our Interior Designer

Organizational and creative freedom to design Boston Moderns lamp room. Need to create an organizational system for stagers to easily find and maintain lamp selections for jobs

Who you’ll be working with: directly report to owner and creative director; Melissa Morrissey, as well as other stagers, designers, managers, and movers on a daily basis.

ABOUT YOU:

A student studying in a design related field, or a creative individual wanting a “jump-start” in the field of design

Take direction well, but also take initiative

Okay with lifting light furniture and working with your hands

Has a basic understanding of color theory to create cohesive designs

Has an understanding of Boston “neighborhoods” (for example: Beacon Hill, Seaport, East Boston all have different target markets; therefore, design schemes suit the geographic location).
